Lionel Péramo: Discover 5 facets of my passion for creation

My journey is not limited to code. What drives me is understanding the deep inner workings of things and creating, regardless of the field.
A journey guided by the pleasure of building
I prefer making my own tools rather than using ready-made solutions. For me, designing a software or a digital object is the best way to learn how it really works.
Learning through practice
I love navigating between high-level abstractions and performance. My development ranges from modern web techs to C/C++, and even Assembly.
Exploring these languages helps me satisfy my technical curiosity. It helps me produce more thoughtful and efficient code every day.
Exploring music and imagery
I see technology as a vast creative playground. I have long explored music with FL Studio to produce beats, or more simply on the piano.
The world of images also fascinates me. I have taken great pleasure in creating with Paint Shop Pro, Blender, or Terragen.
Procedural design and textures
Back in the Allegorithmic days, I studied Substance Designer to create my own materials. I designed complex substances, like a cobblestone where you could control the amount of snow or moss.
I also developed an animated lava substance using node graphs. This mathematical approach to visual creation remains one of my most significant experiences.
My vision for a free and fast web
I share my creations to help the web become faster and simpler for everyone. My projects are guided by the desire to limit the useless complexity of current sites.
Mastery of technical autonomy
I minimize the use of third-party libraries to ensure the quality of my work. This allows me not to depend on a maintainer’s responsiveness for a new function.
I am never blocked by technical choices that do not suit me. This freedom allows me to evolve each version of my tools according to my own standards.
The OTRA and EcoComposer adventure
I provide lightweight tools for every developer. It is with this vision that I created OTRA, my own PHP framework, and EcoComposer, a UI component library.
While OTRA is an open source framework, I designed EcoComposer as a professional solution based on a subscription.
This blog: a performance laboratory
I designed this blog as a performance laboratory. It is not just a sharing space; it’s a technical demonstration.
One can combine modern design with extreme lightness. This site is built on my own build script, without a “gas factory,” to achieve an optimal SEO and eco-design score.
My goal is to show that a smarter web is possible when you take back control of your code. I want to help the community gain expertise and no longer suffer from technical choices imposed by others.
