The environmental impact of digital technology is a major concern. As a performance-driven developer, I believe that optimized code is greener code.

This website was designed with absolute digital sobriety in mind. Here are the concrete choices made to reduce its carbon footprint.

1. Technical Architecture

No heavy CMS, no complex JavaScript frameworks.

• Static Site Generator (SSG): Pages are pre-generated in pure HTML. The server performs no calculations during your visit.
• Brotli Compression: All files are pre-compressed, drastically reducing data transfer.
• Zero Tracking: No tracking cookies, no energy-consuming analytics scripts.

2. Design & UX

The interface focuses on the essential: the content.

• System Fonts: No fonts are downloaded. The site uses the ones already installed on your device.
• Dark Mode: Respects your system preferences to save energy on OLED screens.
• Lazy Loading: Images load only when you scroll to them.

3. Hosting

• Provider: OVHcloud (France).
• Location: Data hosted in France to minimize transit distance.
• Efficiency: Water-cooled servers reducing the need for air conditioning.

4. Measurement

• EcoIndex: Target Score A (Score > 90/100).
• PageSpeed Insights: Target 100/100.
• Weight: Homepage < 20 kb.
